Meet Lalaland: A Rice-Field Alternative to the Bali Cliff Wedding

For years, a Bali wedding has meant one picture above all: a couple on a clifftop, the Indian Ocean stretching out behind them. We love that view. We’ve built a business around it in Uluwatu.
But not every couple sees their day on the edge of a cliff. Some want green instead of blue, a lawn instead of limestone, and a weekend where their closest people never have to leave the property. For them, we’re introducing Lalaland.
A different kind of Bali view
Lalaland is a private estate in Berawa, Canggu, with rice fields on three sides. It sits ten minutes from the beach clubs, yet far enough away that all you hear is the field.
Where a cliff wedding is about the drama of the ocean, Lalaland is softer: rice terraces, tall palms, string lights coming on at dusk, and low golden light across the fields for sunset portraits.

Five weddings a year, by design
Bali’s appetite for intimate celebrations keeps growing, but genuinely private venues are rare. Lalaland hosts a maximum of five weddings per calendar year, one at a time. No shared grounds, no transfers between venues, no other party next door.
One property, five moments
The whole day unfolds without anyone getting into a car.
Bridal preparation. The guest house opens onto a large living space with its own pool and garden. Hair, make-up, dressing and the photographer all work at once, so the morning stays unhurried.
Ceremony. Vows in the field, with the rice terraces as your backdrop.
Cocktail hour. Drinks by the pool while the field is turned for dinner.
Sunset portraits. About twenty minutes of low light across the fields.
Reception. Long tables after dark, then dancing in the same open field.

Stay where you celebrate
The villa sleeps up to 10 guests, so your immediate wedding party stays on site. No convoys, no morning traffic from Canggu.
With a three-night minimum, one day becomes a whole weekend: a welcome dinner by the pool on arrival, the wedding on day two, and a late breakfast and unhurried departure on day three.

Styled and run by a team that does this every week
Our sister company, Wonderland Rentals, supplies the tables, chairs, bar setups, styling furniture and décor. Sourcing it in-house keeps the ceremony, cocktail and reception areas looking like one considered design.
The same team delivers 60+ weddings in Bali every year at Wonderland Uluwatu. Couples with vendors they already love are welcome to bring them.

Cliff or field?
Lalaland is made for intimate destination weddings of up to 80 seated guests: close family and friends, where personal detail matters more than headcount. Above eighty, it would lose the privacy that makes it worth booking.
If crashing waves are non-negotiable, Uluwatu’s cliffs will always have their place, and Copy House remains our spot for clifftop proposals and pre-wedding shoots. If you’d rather say your vows with rice terraces behind you, Lalaland may be the one.
